"Addiction is a disease, which when in action, rewires our brain on a cellular level to focus on obtaining and using a substance as compared to securing basic necessities such as Food, Water, and Shelter. In 2022, over 110,000 Americans died due to overdose. Thirty six Wilson County residents have died since September 2020. Prevention, as in something as simple as informing someone or providing education on a difficult subject, could be the difference that changes these metrics moving forward."
