"Addiction is a disease, which when in action, rewires our brain on a cellular level to focus on obtaining and using a substance as compared to securing basic necessities such as Food, Water, and Shelter. In 2023, over 105,007* Americans died due to overdose. In 2022, there were 30** Wilson County residents who died from an overdose. Prevention, as in something as simple as informing someone or providing education on a difficult subject, could be the difference that changes these metrics moving forward."
